Floral
One of the major reasons why flowers have always been one of the most frequently used patterns in lace design is that, they are partly in the shape of a circle or oval, thus making any floral pattern more manageable while working with laces. Even if a flower entirely is not in the shape of a circle or oval, some parts of it, always are. It is always easier for the naturally cascading and arching patterns of the floral forms to represent themselves, beautifully and elegantly with lace. A geometric pattern could never hope to compete with a floral design, when it came to laces. These blossoming patterns were markedly prominent and have been the eternal favorites of lace designers, across centuries. Till the 19th century, floral lace trim revolved around all kinds of natural flowers which were depicted as elegantly arranged in a Victorian drawing room of the time.
